Privacy policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it and what rights you have. We’ve kept it short, because right now we collect very little.
Who we are
CoBalance Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We’re a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17522829) with our registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.
For any privacy question or request, email us at contact@cobalance.life.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join our waitlist, either through a waitlist form or by ticking the box when you ask for your assessment results.
- Your assessment results and email address, only if you ask us to email you your results from our household workload assessment. Otherwise your assessment answers, including any photos you add for your family, stay in your browser and never reach us. Photos are never included in emailed results.
- Your message, email address and name, if you write to us through our contact form. Your name is optional.
- Anything you choose to share with us, such as survey answers, feedback on early versions of CoBalance, or what you tell us if you take part in a research session.
- Basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Our hosting provider records this automatically to keep the site secure and working.
- How you use the website, only if you accept analytics cookies: the pages you visit, which assessment steps you reach, and whether you email your results or join the waitlist. See Cookies and analytics.
We don't use advertising trackers on this website.
How we use it
We use your email address to:
- tell you when CoBalance launches
- invite you to try early (beta) versions of CoBalance
- send you occasional surveys and ask for your feedback
- invite you to take part in research, such as a short interview
We’ll keep our emails occasional and relevant. Taking part in any beta, survey or research is always optional. We won’t sell your email address, rent it or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We use your feedback and research answers to understand what families need and to improve CoBalance. If you take part in a survey or research session, we’ll tell you beforehand what we’ll collect and how we’ll use it. Where we quote or share findings, we’ll do it without identifying you unless you’ve agreed otherwise.
If you ask us to email you your assessment results, we use your email address and the results you send to send that one email, and we don't keep your answers. We add you to our waitlist only if you tick the box to join it. Getting your results never depends on joining. If you don't tick the box, we don't keep your email address or add you to any list.
If you write to us through the contact form, we use what you send to read and reply to your message, and to improve CoBalance if it's feedback. It doesn't add you to our waitlist.
If you send feedback from your assessment results, we receive your answer, your comment and how you did the assessment (alone or together), without your name or email address. We use it only to improve the assessment.
We use technical information only to run, secure and fix the website.
Our lawful basis
We rely on your consent to hold your email address and contact you about our launch, early access, surveys and research, and to use anything you choose to share with us. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us.
When you ask us to email your assessment results, we process your email address and results because you asked us to (to provide the service you requested). If anything you choose to include is about health, we process it only because you've chosen to send it to yourself.
We process contact form messages on the basis of our legitimate interests in answering the people who write to us and improving CoBalance.
We process technical information on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping the website secure and working properly.
We use analytics cookies only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We use three trusted service providers, who process data only on our instructions and under contract:
- Resend stores our waitlist and sends our emails, including any assessment results you ask us to email you and messages from our contact form.
- Netlify hosts this website.
- Google provides Google Analytics, if you accept analytics cookies.
If we run a survey or research session, we may also use a survey or video-call tool. We’ll tell you which one when we invite you.
Resend, Netlify and Google are based in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We review our list at least once a year and remove people who haven’t opened any of our emails in the last two years. If our plans change and we no longer need the waitlist, we’ll delete it.
We keep survey answers, feedback and research notes only as long as we need them to improve CoBalance, and we remove details that identify you as soon as we can.
We don't keep assessment results you ask us to email you. Resend keeps a record of sent emails for a short period as part of its delivery logs, and then deletes it. If you also joined the waitlist, we keep your email address as described above.
We keep contact form messages for as long as we need them to reply and follow up, and no longer than two years.
Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then deleted.
Google Analytics keeps the data it collects for 14 months, and then deletes it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
- ask us to restrict or stop using it
- receive a copy of it in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time
To use any of these rights, email contact@cobalance.life. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us.
Children
This website and our waitlist are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when we launch the CoBalance app, and whenever how we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
